Key takeaways on Golden Globes odds right now
There is no live Golden Globes odds market on Polymarket today. We queried the Gamma API on 13 October 2026 across the awards, movies and pop-culture tags and found zero active Golden Globes events. The twenty Golden Globes events the search does return are all resolved from previous ceremonies.
Kalshi has built the scaffolding and left it switched off. Its Entertainment catalogue carries 54 Golden Globes series, including 19 separate nomination series, and every one we probed returned zero open markets, zero volume and zero open interest.
The appetite is real and measurable. Those twenty settled Polymarket events took $2,917,738 in lifetime volume between them, led by Best Actor in a Drama at $274,916.
Timing is the whole story. Last cycle Polymarket opened its Globes winner markets on 10 and 14 October 2025, which is this exact week in the calendar. The equivalent 2027 markets had not appeared when we checked.
If you want a tradable awards market this week, the Oscars 2027 board is the only one open. The Odyssey trades at 52.5 cents for Best Picture on $300,483 of event volume, and Julianne Moore is at 72.5 cents for Best Actress.
On this page
This guide covers where Golden Globes odds stand today, why Polymarket has no live market, what the last two Globes cycles traded and when they opened, the 54 dormant Kalshi series, the official calendar that will switch the markets on, the Oscars 2027 board as the live proxy, why expert percentages are not odds, and how to read a Globes board in its first week.
Every market figure below was read directly from the Polymarket Gamma API and the Kalshi public API on 13 October 2026. Every date comes from the Golden Globes' own rules page. Prices move, so treat the numbers as a dated snapshot rather than a live quote.
Golden Globes odds in October 2026: the honest status
Search for Golden Globes odds in October and you will get a page of numbers that are not odds. That matters more than it sounds, because the gap between an expert panel's confidence and a market's price is the difference between an opinion and somebody's money.
The 84th Golden Globes air on 10 January 2027, and the ceremony is the first major awards show of the season. Last year's edition pulled 9.17 million US viewers in live-plus-seven, so there is no shortage of audience for a market to price.
Here is the promise of this page: by the end of it you will know exactly which Golden Globes markets exist, which are open, what the dormant ones did last time, and the date on which they are likely to wake up.
We did not take anyone's word for it. We queried Polymarket's Gamma API and Kalshi's public API directly on 13 October 2026, enumerated every Golden Globes series on both venues, and checked the open-market count, volume and open interest on each. The numbers below are what those calls returned.

Polymarket is not running a Golden Globes market today
Polymarket keeps a landing page at polymarket.com/predictions/golden-globes, and it returns HTTP 200. That is the trap. A page that loads is not a market that trades, and the 200 is doing a lot of work for anyone who stops there.
We ran the Gamma search endpoint for Golden Globes with the active filter and got nothing back with Globes in the title. We then pulled the full active event list for the awards, movies and pop-culture tags, 20 events deep each, sorted by volume. The awards tag is currently dominated by the Ballon d'Or and a wall of MLB season awards. No Golden Globes event appears in any of them.
Switch the same search to resolved and twenty Golden Globes events come back immediately, every one of them closed. That is the clean proof that this is a timing gap rather than a venue that has abandoned the category.
So if a site is showing you a Polymarket Golden Globes price this week, check what it is actually quoting. The most likely answers are a settled market from January, an Oscars market relabelled, or an expert percentage with a market's logo next to it.

What the last two Golden Globes cycles actually traded
The settled markets are worth reading closely, because they tell you what the 2027 board will probably look like. Across the twenty resolved Golden Globes events Polymarket's search returns, lifetime volume totals $2,917,738.
The five largest, by volume: Best Actor in a Drama Winner at $274,916; Best Actor in a Movie, Musical or Comedy at $258,553; Best Motion Picture in Drama Winner at $248,286; Best Actor in a Drama Nominees at $206,700; and Best Actress in a Movie, Drama at $191,923.
Below those, the television categories are real but thinner: Best Television Series Drama Winner took $180,901, Best Director Winner $179,500, Best Actor in a Television Drama $80,120 and Best Television Series Comedy or Musical $54,278. Acting and Best Picture are where the money goes; TV and the craft categories are where the spreads get wide.
The structural detail I would not skip is the nominees market. Best Actor in a Drama Nominees opened on 10 October 2025 and closed on 8 December 2025, the day the 83rd nominations landed. It is a separate two-month instrument that resolves a month before the winner markets do, and at $206,700 it outtraded most of the winner categories.

Kalshi scaffolded 54 Golden Globes series and opened none
Kalshi's Entertainment catalogue runs to 2,590 series, and 54 of them are Golden Globes series under the KXGG prefix. The coverage is more granular than Polymarket's: Best Drama Film, Best Musical or Comedy Film, Director, Screenplay, Score, Animated Film, Foreign Film, the four film acting categories, the television slate, and oddities like Best Stand-Up and Best Box Office Achievement.
Nineteen of the 54 are dedicated nomination series under the KXGGGNOM prefix, one per category, plus a general KXGGNOM series for who will be nominated at all. There is even a KXGGPODCAST series, which tracks the podcast category the Globes added to its submission process.
We queried nineteen of these series directly against the open-markets endpoint. Every one returned an empty market list: no open contracts, no volume, no open interest, nothing quoted. The series records exist; the markets under them do not yet.
This is the same pattern ScreenOdds found on the Oscars board in September, where Kalshi had listed hundreds of markets and traded none of them. Treat a Kalshi series ticker as evidence that a market is planned, not that you can trade it.

The calendar that will switch these markets on
The Golden Globes publish their own timetable, and it is the schedule the markets key off. Submissions for the 84th ceremony opened on 1 June 2026 and close on Friday 30 October 2026. Nominations are announced on Monday 7 December 2026 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific.
Final ballots go out from KPMG on 18 December 2026 and are due back by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday 2 January 2027. The ceremony itself is Sunday 10 January 2027 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific, on CBS and streaming on Paramount+, with Nikki Glaser hosting for a third consecutive year.
Now map the last two cycles onto that. For the 83rd Globes, Polymarket's winner markets started on 10 and 14 October 2025, roughly two months before nominations. For the 82nd, the equivalent markets did not start until 17 and 18 December 2024, after nominations had already been announced.
So Polymarket moved its Globes listings nearly ten weeks earlier between cycles, and we are now a few days past the 2025 equivalent date with nothing listed. The two dates I would actually watch are the 30 October submission deadline and 7 December nominations. The second one is close to a guarantee: a nominee list is what the winner markets need in order to have outcomes to list.

The Oscars 2027 board is the live proxy
If you want exposure to this awards season today, the Oscars 2027 markets are open and carrying real money. Best Picture Winner has $300,483 of volume against $229,602 of liquidity, Best Actor Winner $203,583, Best Actress Winner $151,114 and Best Director Winner $30,759.
The named prices as of 13 October 2026: The Odyssey at 52.5 cents for Best Picture, with $150,831 of the event's volume sitting on that one outcome; Julianne Moore at 72.5 cents for Best Actress on $98,433; and Christopher Nolan at 61.0 cents for Best Director on $22,072. Best Actor has volume but no named favourite priced yet.
That last point is the catch, and it is the main reason to be careful using this board as a Globes substitute. Most rows on these markets are unnamed placeholders called things like Film X and Actor Z, parked at 50 cents with no volume behind them. A 50-cent placeholder is not a forecast of anything.
The proxy is also imperfect on the merits. The Globes split film into Drama and Musical or Comedy, which the Academy does not, and the Globes have a separate television slate with no Oscars equivalent at all. A Best Picture price tells you something about Best Drama Film and almost nothing about Best Musical or Comedy TV.
Expert percentages are not odds
The pages ranking for Golden Globes odds this month are mostly showing expert-panel percentages, Gold Derby's in particular. Those are a useful signal and I read them, but they are a poll of pundits, not a price, and nobody loses money for being wrong.
They also frequently measure a different event. Several of the headline Globes percentages circulating now are nomination probabilities, not win probabilities. A film at 94 percent to be nominated for Best Drama Film may be nowhere near 94 percent to win it.
Market prices carry two things an expert panel does not: a cost for being wrong, and a volume figure that tells you how seriously to take the number. A 52.5-cent price on $150,831 of volume is a different object from a 52 percent panel consensus, even when the digits match.
They also disagree in public. Search snapshots this week put The Odyssey at 53 percent on one Oscars listing and 49 percent on another, which is a reminder to check the timestamp and the venue on any awards number before you quote it.
How to read Golden Globes odds the week they open
When the 2027 Globes markets do list, the first week is the one to be most sceptical about. Opening prices on a thin awards board are set by a handful of traders, and the early spreads on the smaller categories last cycle were wide enough to eat any edge you thought you had.
Check volume before price, every time. On the settled 2026 board, the gap between Best Actor in a Drama at $274,916 and Best Television Series Comedy or Musical at $54,278 is the gap between a number worth reading and a number worth ignoring.
Add the category prices up. If the outcomes in one category sum to well over 100 cents, which is normal on an early multi-outcome board, every headline probability in it is inflated and needs rebasing before you compare it to anything else.
And wait for names. Until a category's outcomes are real nominees rather than placeholder rows, the board is a shell. For the Globes that means 7 December 2026, which is the date this page will be updated against.

FAQ
Are there live Golden Globes odds right now?
Not on the two major US prediction markets. As of 13 October 2026, Polymarket lists no active Golden Globes event and Kalshi's 54 Golden Globes series all have zero open markets. The sportsbook and expert-prediction pages ranking for the term are showing panel percentages or Oscars markets.
When will Golden Globes markets open for 2027?
The most likely trigger is the nomination announcement on 7 December 2026, because winner markets need a nominee list to have outcomes. Last cycle Polymarket listed its Globes winner markets earlier than that, on 10 and 14 October 2025, so an October or November listing is also possible.
When are the 84th Golden Globes?
Sunday 10 January 2027 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific, on CBS and streaming on Paramount+, with Nikki Glaser hosting for a third year. Nominations land on 7 December 2026 and the submission deadline is 30 October 2026.
Does Polymarket have a Golden Globes page?
Yes, polymarket.com/predictions/golden-globes returns HTTP 200, but it is a category landing page rather than a live market. The Gamma API returns no active Golden Globes events, only twenty resolved ones.
How much did Golden Globes markets trade last time?
The twenty resolved Golden Globes events on Polymarket took $2,917,738 in lifetime volume. The largest was Best Actor in a Drama Winner at $274,916, and the Best Actor in a Drama Nominees market took $206,700 on its own.
Can I use Oscars odds as a proxy for the Golden Globes?
Partly. The Oscars 2027 board is live and has real volume, so it is a reasonable read on the Best Drama Film race. It does not map to the Globes' Musical or Comedy split, and it has no equivalent at all for the Globes television categories.
Why are Gold Derby percentages different from market odds?
Gold Derby aggregates expert and user predictions, which is a poll rather than a price. Many Globes figures circulating now are also nomination probabilities, not win probabilities, so they answer a different question than a winner market.
What is the biggest mistake on an early awards board?
Trusting a placeholder. Most outcomes on the current Oscars 2027 markets are unnamed rows such as Film X parked at 50 cents with no volume, and a 50-cent placeholder is not a forecast. Check the outcome has a real name and real volume before reading its price.
